Supported Independent Living (SIL)
NDIS-funded support workers who help you live independently in a shared or individual home. Our registered nurse writes and monitors every care plan.
Short-term Accommodation (STA)
Respite stays for NDIS participants needing temporary supported accommodation. Available at multiple Care Assure locations.

- Am I eligible for NDIS?
To be eligible for the NDIS, you must be under 65 years of age, be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, and have a permanent disability that substantially reduces your ability to participate in everyday life. The NDIA assesses your eligibility based on how your disability affects your daily functioning.
- Are you a registered NDIS provider?
Yes. Care Assure is a registered NDIS provider. Registration means we meet the NDIS Practice Standards and NDIS Code of Conduct requirements, and we are regularly audited to maintain our registration. You can verify our registration at the NDIS Provider Register.
- What is the difference between registered and unregistered NDIS providers?
A registered NDIS provider has been audited and approved by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to meet specific practice standards. An unregistered provider has not. For services like SIL and SDA, you must use a registered provider. For some other services, you can choose an unregistered provider if you self-manage your plan.
- How do I choose an NDIS provider?
Look for a registered provider with experience in your specific support needs, who operates in your area, employs qualified staff, can show you their care plan process, and has genuine participant reviews. Ask whether they have a registered nurse overseeing care, what their incident reporting process is, and how they handle plan changes.
- What types of support does NDIS funding cover?
NDIS funding covers three main support categories: Core Supports (daily activities, transport, consumables, SIL), Capital Supports (SDA housing, assistive technology), and Capacity Building Supports (skill development, support coordination, improved relationships). Care Assure provides services under Core and Capital support categories.
- How much does Care Assure Charge for services?
Care Assure charges in line with the NDIS Support Catalogue, which sets maximum price limits for all funded supports. We do not charge above the price guide rates. Your support coordinator or plan manager can provide a service agreement with full pricing before you commit.
- How long does it take to start services?
For SIL and for support in SDA housing, the timeline depends on your NDIS plan status and available vacancies. Once your plan includes the right supports and a vacancy is confirmed, Care Assure typically completes intake within 2 to 4 weeks. For in-home and community supports, we can often begin within 1 to 2 weeks of your inquiry.
- Can I use Care Assure alongside my current provider?
Yes. NDIS participants can use multiple providers for different support types. For example, you might use Care Assure for SIL while retaining another provider for community access or plan management. Your support coordinator can help you manage multiple providers within your plan.
- What happens if I need to cancel my services?
Care Assure has a service agreement that outlines notice periods and cancellation terms in line with NDIS guidelines. You retain the right to change providers at any time. If you want to move to a different SIL home or provider, we work cooperatively with your support coordinator to manage the transition.
