What is Short Term Accommodation (STA), including respite?
The term “Short-Term Accommodation,” including “Respite,” refers to financial assistance that can be used to pay for temporary support and lodging away from your regular residence. It pays for your care at a different location for a maximum of 14 consecutive days. You may spend some time alone or with other individuals during your visit. If your regular support network is unavailable for a short period, you might find a good short-term accommodation that meets your requirements. You have some freedom in how you can use your short-term housing financing. For instance, you can use it up to fourteen days at a time or for a single monthly weekend.
You get funds for Short Term Accommodation if:
You are eligible for short-term accommodation funding if you pass the following criteria;
- Your family or informal support can support you for a longer
- You might not need as much support in the future
- It helps you maintain functional capacity
