NDIS Services in South Australia and Tasmania
Care Assure is a registered NDIS provider delivering disability support services across South Australia and Tasmania. Since 2019, we have supported participants with our staff under our registration. Bring us your plan, and we will help you work out what it funds.
What Are NDIS Services?
NDIS services are the supports your plan pays for. The scheme splits funding into three budgets, and knowing which budget covers what is most of the work in figuring out what you can actually use.

Complex and high-intensity supports fall under Core Supports but have their own line item, High Intensity Daily Personal Activities, because they require a registered nurse care plan. That distinction matters if you have complex health needs, and most provider websites skip past it.
NDIS Services and Supports We Deliver
Every service below is delivered by our own staff under our own NDIS registration, not brokered out to someone you'll never meet. Which ones you can access depends on what your plan funds, and we will tell you plainly if it does not stretch to something.
Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Daily support to help you live as independently as possible in a shared or individual home. Support can include personal care, medication assistance, meal preparation, household routines and everyday living skills. Care Assure operates 54 supported homes across South Australia and Tasmania, with hours that can flex as your needs change. SIL is funded through Core Supports.
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)
SDA is purpose-built or modified housing for participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. It pays for the building itself, not the support services inside it, which is why it is funded through Capital Supports rather than Core Supports. SDA housing is provided by Care Casa, our SDA provider partner, and Care Assure delivers the SIL support inside those homes, so the two are arranged together.
Respite Care
A supported short stay away from home that gives participants a change of scene and carers a genuine break. Stays can include accommodation, personal care, meals, daily living help and activities. Short Term Accommodation is funded through Core Supports, while Medium Term Accommodation supports longer transitions, including after hospital or while an SDA placement is arranged.
In-Home Care
Support delivered in your own home rather than a facility, covering personal care, household tasks, meal preparation, medication support, community access, transport, social support, and overnight assistance where funded. It suits participants who have their own place and need help at specific times. Where staff need to be on-site for longer periods, SIL may be a better fit.
Hospital Discharge Support
We work with hospital discharge planners, families and allied health teams to arrange accommodation, equipment and daily supports before discharge, helping you return home without waiting for services. Where your longer-term arrangement is still being organised, Medium Term Accommodation can cover the gap while ongoing supports and housing are confirmed and put in place.
Complex Care Services
High-intensity clinical support for participants with complex health needs, delivered under registered nurse care plan governance. Support includes ventilation, tracheostomy care and enteral feeding, dysphagia and mealtime care, catheter and stoma care and injections, with epilepsy, diabetes and palliative needs. Funding is through High Intensity Daily Personal Activities.
Community Participation
Support to stay active, connected and involved through social groups, volunteering, learning new skills, community events, and building confidence to do more independently. Community participation can be funded through Core Supports or Capacity Building, depending on your plan. If your funding is unclear, Care Assure can help you understand which NDIS budget applies.

How to Check We Are Registered
You should not have to take our word for it. The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission publishes a public register of every approved provider. Care Assure appears there, with registration in force across 16 registration groups covering the services above, and outlets in South Australia and Tasmania.
Registration means being independently audited against the NDIS Practice Standards rather than self-declaring competence. Plenty of capable providers choose not to register. It is worth knowing which kind you are dealing with before you sign anything.

Care Assure operates in two states, and we would rather say so than imply national coverage we do not have.
- South Australia: Adelaide and the metropolitan area, Mount Gambier, Mount Barker, Port Augusta and Whyalla.
- Tasmania: Hobart and Greater Hobart, including Glenorchy, Claremont, Rokeby, Kingston, Old Beach, Magra and New Norfolk, plus Launceston and northern Tasmania.

- What NDIS services does Care Assure provide?
Six services: supported independent living (SIL), respite care through short-term and medium-term accommodation, in-home care, hospital discharge support, complex care and high-intensity clinical support, and community participation. SDA housing is provided by our partner Care Casa.
- Is Care Assure a registered NDIS provider?
Yes. Care Assure is registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and audited against the NDIS Practice Standards. Registration is in force until 8 November 2026 and covers 16 registration groups. You can verify this on the Commission's public provider register.
- What is the difference between SIL and SDA?
SDA is the house, a purpose-built accessible home funded by Capital Supports. SIL is the support delivered inside it, funded from Core Supports. Your plan can fund one, the other, or both. Care Assure provides the SIL support, and our partner Care Casa provides the SDA home.
- What are the four SDA design categories?
High Physical Support, Robust, Fully Accessible and Improved Liveability. Which one your plan funds depends on your assessed needs, and Care Assure operates homes across all four.
- What is the difference between STA and MTA?
Short-term accommodation is standard respite, usually a few days to a fortnight. Medium-term accommodation is for longer transitions of up to 90 days, where permanent housing is confirmed but not yet available.
- Which NDIS budget pays for these services?
Most come from Core Supports. SDA housing comes from Capital Supports. Community participation can come from either Core Supports or Capacity Building. Complex care sits within Core Supports under the High Intensity Daily Personal Activities line item.
- Where does Care Assure operate?
South Australia and Tasmania. In SA, that covers Adelaide, Mount Gambier, Mount Barker, Port Augusta and Whyalla. In Tasmania, it covers Hobart and Greater Hobart, plus Launceston and the north.
- What does registered nurse governance actually mean?
Clinical supports are delivered against a care plan written by a registered nurse, with support workers trained and signed off against that specific plan. It is not the same as having a nurse on call.
