NDIS In-Home Care in Launceston
Care Assure delivers NDIS in-home care across Launceston and northern Tasmania. Personal care, household help, meals and overnight support, delivered by local teams in your own home.

In-Home NDIS Support Across Launceston and the North
Launceston covers a lot of ground for its population, and the outer suburbs are where transport gets difficult. That is exactly where in-home support earns its keep. Our workers cover Kings Meadows, Youngtown, Newstead, Norwood and South Launceston through the middle of the city, out to Riverside, Trevallyn, Blackstone Heights and Prospect Vale to the west, and north through Mowbray, Rocherlea, Ravenswood and Newnham. Care Assure already has SDA homes in St Leonards and Prospect Vale, so this is not a service area drawn on a map. There are staff here already.
How In-Home Care Is Funded
All of this comes out of the Core Supports budget in your NDIS plan. Personal care, household help and meals sit under Assistance with Daily Life. Transport and getting out into the community sit under Assistance with Social and Community Participation. Anything clinical, such as enteral feeding or catheter management, is funded under High Intensity Daily Personal Activities and requires a registered nurse care plan. If your plan reads as if it were written for someone else, that is common, and we can help you make sense of what it actually funds.

In-Home Care or SIL: Which One Do You Need?
Put simply, in-home care is support that visits, SIL is support that lives there. In-home care works when you have your own place and need help at specific times of day. SIL is for when support needs are high enough that having staff on site is the only realistic option, usually in a shared home. Care Assure delivers both in Launceston, including SDA properties in St Leonards and Prospect Vale, for participants who need accommodation and support. Working out which one your plan points to is something our team can do with you.

What In-Home Care Covers in Launceston
Every one of the supports below is delivered in your own home in Launceston. What you receive depends on what your NDIS plan funds, and we will tell you honestly if your plan does not stretch to something.
Personal Care at Home
Support with showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and continence needs, in your own home. We roster for continuity, so the person helping you is someone you know, which in a smaller city is genuinely achievable rather than aspirational.
Household Tasks and Domestic Help
Cleaning, laundry, linen, dishes and general upkeep. Funded under Assistance with Daily Life. Often combined with a personal care visit to make better use of the hours in your plan.
Community Access and Transport
Getting to appointments, work, study, groups and the shops. Transport across Launceston's outer suburbs is limited, and for many participants here, this is the support that makes the rest of the plan usable.
Meal Preparation and Nutrition
Shopping, cooking and mealtime support. Where swallowing or a modified diet is involved, our mealtime management is written and supervised by a registered nurse rather than left to individual judgment.
Overnight and Sleepover Support
Active overnight assistance or a sleepover arrangement, depending on whether support is genuinely needed through the night or mainly on call. We will talk you through the difference before anything is booked.
Medication Support
From prompting through to administration under a nurse-governed care plan, depending on what your plan and your care plan allow.
Social Support and Companionship
Support to stay connected, maintain interest, or simply have company. Frequently funded, frequently left unused.

Support After a Hospital Stay in Launceston
Coming home from Launceston General without supports is how people end up back in a bed within a fortnight. Care Assure coordinates with discharge planners, families, and allied health so in-home support starts day one, under registered nurse governance where clinical needs apply.
Areas We Cover Around Launceston
Launceston covers a lot of ground for its size, and the outer suburbs are where getting anywhere becomes the problem. That's exactly where support coming to you earns its keep. Care Assure already runs homes in the area rather than servicing it from Hobart, so our teams start their day here. Choose your area for local NDIS services and current vacancies.
