The 2026 NDIS SIL Registration Deadline: What Glenorchy Participants Must Know

From 1 July 2026, every SIL provider in Glenorchy must be registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requires all SIL providers, including those in Glenorchy and greater Hobart, to hold current NDIS registration. Unregistered providers cannot receive SIL funding after this date.

Glenorchy has multiple SIL providers of varying sizes and ages. Not all will have completed registration by July 2026. Participants and support coordinators should:

  • icon
Check registration before 1 July: Visit ndis.gov.au, go to the Provider Register, and search your current provider's name. If they are not listed as a registered provider, their SIL funding stops on 1 July 2026.
  • icon
Allow 2-4 weeks for transitions: Switching SIL providers requires a new NDIS quote process and transition plan. If your provider is unregistered, start the transition now, not in June.
  • icon
Care Assure is registered: NDIS registered. NIISQ registered. Our SIL operations at 99 Brent Street are fully compliant with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission practice standards.

Why Choose Care Assure for SIL in Glenorchy?

Glenorchy has multiple SIL providers. Here is what sets Care Assure apart clinically, operationally, and in how we match participants to the right home.

  • icon
Confirmed Glenorchy address: 99 Brent Street, Glenorchy TAS 7010. Not a general Glenorchy availability claim, a real property you can visit.
  • icon
Registered nurse authors every care plan: The RN writes the plan before move-in and reviews it when needs change. Not all Glenorchy SIL providers offer this clinical governance model.
  • icon
NDIS and NIISQ dual registration: Very few TAS SIL providers hold both. NIISQ registration reflects a quality standard beyond basic NDIS Commission requirements.

2026 registration compliant: Fully registered ahead of the 1 July 2026 mandatory SIL registration deadline.
  • icon
Housemate compatibility first: We discuss compatibility before any placement, lifestyle, support needs, and personal preferences. You will know who you are living with before you move in.
  • icon
SA and TAS network continuity: If circumstances change and you need to relocate to Adelaide, regional SA, or elsewhere, Hobart Care Assure operates across both states. Same provider, different location.
  • icon
Award recognition: Champion Awards 2025 Winner. Citizen of the Year 2025. Governor's Multicultural Awards 2022.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What NDIS housing does Care Assure provide in Glenorchy?

Care Assure provides Supported Independent Living (SIL) at 99 Brent Street, Glenorchy, TAS. SIL funds daily support workers who help participants with personal care, meals, household tasks, medication management, and community access in a shared residential home. The 99 Brent Street property has 24-hour support and registered nurse oversight of all care plans. Contact our team for the current status of the vacancy.

What is SIL, and how is it different from SDA in Glenorchy?

SIL (Supported Independent Living) funds the support workers who help you in your home with personal care, meals, household tasks, medication, and community access. It does not fund the home itself. SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) funds a purpose-built specialist home for participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. In Glenorchy, SIL is more widely available than SDA. Care Assure's Glenorchy property at 99 Brent Street is SIL. Our SDA properties are in Rokeby (HPS and Robust), Old Beach (HPS), Magra, Sorell, and Claremont.

Does the Glenorchy SIL home have registered nurse oversight?

Yes. Care Assure's registered nurse writes and monitors every resident care plan at 99 Brent Street. The RN authors the plan before move-in, reviews it when needs change, and provides clinical governance for the support workers. This model differs from providers where care plans are written by support coordinators or managers without nursing qualifications.

What is the 2026 NDIS SIL registration requirement for Glenorchy providers?

From 1 July 2026, the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requires all SIL providers, including those in Glenorchy, to hold current NDIS registration. Unregistered providers cannot receive SIL funding after this date. To check any provider's registration, visit the NDIS Provider Register at ndis.gov.au. Care Assure is fully NDIS and NIISQ-registered. If your current provider is unregistered, contact Care Assure to discuss a transition to 99 Brent Street before the July 2026 deadline.

Can Care Assure accommodate SDA needs in Glenorchy?

Care Assure has confirmed the Glenorchy property is SIL, not SDA. If you need Specialist Disability Accommodation in greater Hobart, Care Assure operates HPS SDA homes in Rokeby, Old Beach (Wattlebird Way), Magra, Sorell, and Claremont, and SIL in Kingston and Moonah. Our team can discuss which TAS property best matches your approved SDA design category and care requirements.
