With NDIS Core Support, Care Assure is helping improve the lives of South Australians every day. We’re here to help you get the most out of your NDIS budget, with professional care that is tailored to you.
What is NDIS Core Support?
NDIS Core Supports are in place to help you with everyday activities, your disability-related needs, participating more fully in your community and working towards your goals. There are four different support categories under the NDIS Core Support budget, these are:
- Assistance with daily life
- Transport
- Consumables
- Assistance with social & community participation
What can NDIS Core Support be used for?
Assistance with daily life
Assistance with daily life is designed to empower you to live your best life, as autonomously as possible. It covers the cost of hiring support for everyday life activities such as:
- Personal care (showering, dressing, etc.)
- Domestic tasks (cooking, cleaning, gardening, etc.)
- Making household decisions
Whether you need physical assistance with these tasks, or simply want someone to supervise, our assistance with daily life services are designed to make everyday life easier for you.
This category of NDIS Core Supports can also be accessed outside your home. For example, should you require support in the community, at school, work, TAFE or university, we are here to help.
Transport
The transport category of NDIS Core Supports covers the costs associated with specialised NDIS transport to school, education programs, employment, community or recreational activities. At Care Assure, we can organise caring and comprehensive transport services that include private cars and NDIS buses. We also provide assistance with transport in Adelaide including regional areas of South Australia such as Port Augusta, Whyalla, Port Pirie, Victor Harbor and many more.
Consumables
Within the NDIS consumables category, you will receive help with everyday items and services that you require due to your disability. This includes things such as:
- Interpreting and translating services
- Assistive products for personal care or safety
- Low-cost Assistive Technology (AT)
- Assistance animals
- Specialised clothing
- Home enteral nutrition (HEN) products
- Continence products

Assistance with social & community participation
This area of NDIS Core Supports is designed to empower you to better engage with your community. Assistance with social & community participation includes recreational activities and courses that may help you better socialise and connect with others. This could include: art classes, sports coaching and similar activities that build skills and independence; camps, classes and vacation activities that have mentoring or peer support and individual Capacity Building skills development.
Whether you are looking to enrol in a baking program or discovering a new town. We run social and community programs in Adelaide all year round.

NDIS Core Support FAQs:
Funding for therapies are generally flexible. This means, if you have used all the funding in your plan for a specific therapy, then you can transfer it to your Core Supports budget in order to cover the costs. Please note that price limits will still apply, see our NDIS Price Guide for more information.
Where it is considered reasonable and necessary, Core Support NDIS can cover gardening and other household activities such as cleansing and maintenance.
Funding for NDIS Core Support is provided as a lump sum, but perhaps the best thing about this is that it is flexible. You can use your funding across any of the support categories how you wish. This means you can better align the support you receive to your personal goals and aspirations. If you need help allocating this funding, our experienced NDIS plan managers can guide you.
We are a registered NDIS provider in South Australia including Adelaide and surrounding regional areas. We provide a range of NDIS core support to our participant, this may involve assistance with personal care, domestic tasks or transport support.
