What is NDIS housing?
NDIS housing provides individuals who have major functional impairments or high support needs purpose-built accommodations known as Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). People with disabilities are guaranteed to have the infrastructure, features, and support necessary to improve their independence and quality of life when they live in NDIS housing. This is because it has been specifically designed to offer living environments that are accessible, safe, and helpful for these individuals. These accommodations can take the form of wheelchair-accessible houses, apartments, or communal living arrangements, all of which are outfitted with various forms of assistive technology and customised to meet the specific requirements of NDIS participants. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Housing Program aims to provide individuals with disabilities with long-term housing alternatives that promote choice, inclusion, and well-being.
